Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Instrumental in the outfitting of sportsmen throughout the last quarter of the 19th century, Wright & Ditson was founded by baseball’s original superstar, George Wright, with the Boston firm producing each and every uniform for Beantown’s professional baseball clubs from 1871 through 1907. This Wright & Ditson one-piece hockey stick was produced during the earlier part of the 20th century. Stamped "A&F Co." with an address at the blade, the handle is similarly marked "Wright & Ditson, Boston, Mass." with parts of the letters difficult to discern. Exhibiting wear to the underside of the blade, there is also some minor water staining, with a very small crack visible at the toe section of the blade.
