Winning the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2007 as the best female collegiate hockey player, Julie Chu is a five-time world champion, and is tied as the second-most decorated U.S. female in Olympic Winter Games history, represented her nation at four Olympic tournaments. Leading up to the 2002 Olympics, the women’s US national team competed in 8 pre-tournament games, with the offered Team USA team-signed jersey worn by Chu in the Oct 20, 2001 exhibition against Team Canada at the E Center in Salt Lake City (won by the US 4-1). Nike, USA Hockey and IIHF labels are affixed to the collar with “50” sizing, with an IIHF patch sewn to the reverse hem. Featuring a tackle twill USA team crest and “13” over the sleeves and verso, alternate patches grace each shoulder along with the 911 crest over the right. Nice game-use is shown which includes marks over the sleeves and a stick mark on the lower front, with 20 signing the front in marker including Chu, along with Looney, Kennedy, King, Dunn, Bailey, Potter, Bye, Baker, Darwitz, Wendell, Kilbourne, Ruggiero, Wall, Mleczko, Merz and a few others, with slight fading to the signatures. A Nike jersey signed by members of the 1998 women's gold medal winners is also included, with 52 sizing, with 20 signing the front in red or blue ink, including Bye, Baker, Blahoski, King, Whyte, Looney, Brown-Miller, Movsessian, Mounsey, Coyne, Bailey, Dunn, Ruggiero, DeCosta and a few others. The signatures remain bold and display well.
