Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020

The American League MVP in 2004, Vladimir Guerrero was known as a “bad-ball hitter”, able to make contact with pitches outside the strike zone. The Dominican would earn eight Silver Slugger Awards during his Hall of Fame career, along with nine All-Star selections. This bat was used by the designated hitter during his stint with the Montreal Expos, in the early-2000s. A Louisville Slugger C271 model with “Vladimir Guerrero” in block letters over the barrel, the 34” lumber has the model number handwritten over the knob along with Vlad’s “27” (the number is also faint but visible over the top of the barrel), with a heavy coat of pine tar/Mota stick covering the upper handle section. Remaining uncracked, the bat shows thorough game use, with dead wood over the barrel stampings along with ball and transfer marks. This is arguably one of the nicer Guerrero game bats in the hobby. All proceeds from the sale of this lot will go to the Kat D DIPG Foundation at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
