Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
The most successful and storied hockey club in history, the Montreal Canadiens are also the world’s oldest professional team, with les Canadiens founded as a charter member of the NHA, in 1909. Celebrating the centennial of Lord Stanley’s donation and limited to 1,993 copies, we have a gorgeous Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup 100th anniversary framed poster produced in 1992, signed by six HOF legends. At 23” x 35” (exposed), the full colour creation includes a number of famous and important Habs moments set over a muted background that feature’s Yvan Cournoyer hoisting the Cup. Signing near their respective images in silver are Cournoyer, Jean Beliveau, Bob Gainey, Patrick Roy and the Richard brothers. The autographs display well against the darker background, with the poster framed to full dimensions of roughly 30 ½” x 42 ½” (the limited-edition number has completely faded). Displaying beautifully, there is some minor surface wear to the poster visible throughout, with a number of surface indentations, with just light wear to the frame.
