Playing in the American Hockey League from 1959-60 until relocating to Richmond in 1971-72, the Quebec Aces posted a trio of consecutive first-place finishes from 1963 to 1966, with the club serving as a farm team for the Philadelphia Flyers, from 1967 to 1971. We have a collection of Aces-signed postcards from 1965-66 totaling 16. At the standard 3 ½” x 5 ½”, each black and white postcards features an on-ice image, with the respective player’s name along the base. 11 postcards have been signed over the front, including Jean-Guy Gendron, Leon Rochefort, Noel Price, John Hanna, Terry Gray, Don Johns, Jimmy Morrison, Gordon Labossiere, Don Blackburn, Ed Hoekstra and Wayne Hicks, while the remaining 5 have been signed over the reverse by a player other than the one pictured on the postcard front, including Jean-Guy Gendron (Simon Nolet image), Simon Nolet (Wayne Hicks image), Yvon Lacoste (Jean-Guy Gendron image), Doug Senior (Bill Sutherland image) and Bill Sutherland (Yvon Lacoste image). The majority have been signed in blue ballpoint, with no issues for the signatures and moderate wear to the postcards.
