Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Gordie Howe and the Red Wings joined the Parkhurst lineup in 1960-61, with the Gordie here slabbed 5 EX by KSA. Corner wear, an ink mark at the lower right corner and corner stains/discoloration (back) are to be aware of. Most of the raw cards have similar or a little more corner wear but we don’t consider any EX; VG and VG+ dominate, with some making it to VG-EX. Plante (VG+) and VG examples featuring 1-Horton, Sawchuk, the Richard brothers, Harvey and Geoffrion are notable, with Mahovlich (F), Beliveau (G) and 61-Morrison (F) among the lesser. No real unsightly creases are to report and a majority of cards are crease-free but with enough corner wear to send them to the VG realm. Four Canadiens “line” cards are a nifty addition.
The KSA holder housing the Howe card is in scratch-free near mint condition, while a moisture stain on the back of the Plante card (lower left corner when viewing the reverse) is to be aware of.
