Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Mark Messier, Wayne Gretzky and the rest of the Oilers took to the field in the summer of 1983 as part of a charity softball game held in Edmonton much to the delight of local fans. The "Moose" and the Oilers picked up "Mr. Hockey" Gordie Howe and a few other "ringers" and took on all challengers. The Oilers sported their new spiffy Nike made softball uniforms and looked very fashionable regardless of their on-field play! Offered is Mark Messier's game-worn Edmonton Oilers Nike softball uniform including his jersey with number "11" on the back, along with his pants and stirrup socks. The mesh jersey (same material as the Oiler hockey jerseys) has been tagged in the neck by Nike in size XL. The matching pants and socks are made of polyester. The entire uniform shows light game wear with a few marks and stains on the jersey and some grass and other stains on the pants.
