Monstrous in size and compiled by his loving wife, we have a large scrapbook originating from the conclusion of Jean Beliveau’s epic HOF career in 1971, and it hails from his personal collection. At 16 ½” x 24” and with a thick 8” spine, the considerable tomb has “Jean Beliveau” and “4” in gold over the cover, with the contents all loose, with nothing actually glued into the album. Consisting mostly of newspaper clippings, highlights include a photo of Jean with Prime Minister Brian Mulroney (8” x 10”), signed to Jean by Mulroney, along with an accompanying letter to Jean from 1985 from the Office of the Prime Minister, a telegram sent to Jean from Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau in 1969 congratulating Le Gros Bill on the Habs Stanley Cup victory (5 ½” x 8 ½”), original artwork of Jean for his 37th birthday in 1968 (9” x 11”), a letter addressed to Jean signed by David Molson in 1969 (5 ½” x 8 ½”) and more! An LOA from the Beliveau family will accompany.
The majority of the items remain in excellent condition, with toning to the newspaper clippings. The album itself also shows just light handling wear.
