With his picture appearing in the dictionary next to the word “longevity”, Gordie Howe spent an amazing 26 seasons in the NHL, with an additional 7 seasons in the WHA. From a year that witnessed the superstar score 100 points as a 45-year old for Houston, we have a puck used by Howe to net his 31st and final goal of the 1973-74 WHA season, which also served as the game winner, vs Cleveland, on March 17, 1974. Featuring a screened-on black and white Areos crest on one side and WHA logo on the reverse, tape has been added to the side with the particulars handwritten by the collector who received the puck, including “This puck was scored by Gordie Howe March 17 / 1974 at 7:40 3rd period - goal #31 assist Mark Howe, this puck #31 is the highest single season total in WHA by Gordie". A letter from the Aeros will accompany along with a copy of the score sheet, with both mounted to board.
The puck shows nice use with wear to each logo, with a large gouge on the side with the WHA logo.
