Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
From the final season at historic Yankee Stadium in 2008, we have a pair of desirable signed items, with a scorecard signed by Yankees sportscaster John Sterling and a lineup card signed by skipper Joe Girardi. At 11” x 17”, the scorecard is from a Wednesday, June 4th match-up against the Blue Jays, won by the Yanks 5-1, with Jeter, Matsui and Damon all earning RBIs. Sterling has signed in black marker, with the fairly large signature displaying well. Next, the 8 ½” x 14” lineup card hails from an April 30th match vs the Tigers, with the visitors taking out the Bombers 6-2. Jeter, Damon, Cano and Molina are all listed in the lineup, with Jeter and Matsui hitting singles. Girardi has added his John Hancock in blue marker, with no issues for the signature. As an added bonus, we also have an 8” x 10” photo signed by legendary Bronx broadcaster Mel Allen, with the long time “Voice of the Yankees” signing in blue sharpie, adding “How About That!” All three items show light to moderate handling wear with no damage, with Steiner holograms added to the score and lineup cards along with accompanying LOAs, with a JSA hologram affixed to the Allen photo and a Basic Certification included.
This item is relisted from our Spring 2019 auction as Scott Sullivan from Ontario (Canada) failed to honor his bid.
