Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Featuring a youthful Eric Lindros making his mark on the international scene, the 1991 Canada Cup witnessed a two-game Canada vs USA final, with the former taking home the victory, led by coach Mike Keenan. We have a championship gold medal from the 1991 tournament that was originally presented to Keenan, with this item first purchased through Steiner when his collection was sold in 2017. At 2 ½” in diameter, an image of the Canada Cup trophy with “Canada Cup, Coupe Canada” in raised letters graces the obverse, with raised images of the six participating national hockey federations, including Canada, the U.S.S.R., Sweden, the U.S.A., Finland and Czechoslovakia, encircling the reverse. Missing it’s original red and white ribbon, the medal displays wonderfully, with moderate surface wear over both the front and reverse.
