Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
A quartet of noteworthy Hall of Fame members, this lot contains four desirable game-used sticks from the 1980s/90s that saw action in the hands of Glenn Anderson (mid-to-late-1980s Oilers), Michel Goulet (early-1990s Black Hawks), Luc Robitaille (early-1990s LA Kings) and Mike Gartner (1990s Rangers or Maple Leafs). We have Canadien (Anderson), Titan (Goulet), Sher-Wood (Robitaille) and Victoriaville (Gartner) models, with the respective player’s name over the upper shaft, and the original tape job in place over each blade and knob (the tape has been removed from the blade of the Robitaille stick). The Goulet stick has the shaft blackened out, with just light game use on the lumber, with the Robitaille stick signed over the blade, with heavy use to the stick including marks to the shaft, with the signature worn/faded along with the blade discoloured (possibly from heating to alter the curve of the blade). The Anderson stick shows light wear to the blade, with the handle shaven. Lastly, the Gartner has been signed over the blade in blue marker, with a personalization added. The stick shows good use with wear to the underside of the blade, and we should note that Gartner usually used black tape, with the tape job itself administered in similar fashion.
