Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Very few contributed to the sport of hockey as much as Art Ross. The hockey immortal is pictured here while a member of the Montreal Wanderers, the team he played most of his career with, while at times being lured (Kenora, Cobalt, Haileybury) for fantastic salaries - he was one of the best of his era. Better known to some as longtime coach or manager of the Boston Bruins (30 years!), Ross convinced the NHL to adopt a synthetic puck (the Art Ross puck) and to change the style of the goal net. This C57 Art Ross will contribute to your pre-war/tobacco card stash in pleasing VG-EX 4 form, the Pop 5 bettered on the PSA Population Report by just six of 21 other submissions. One of the keys of the C57 issue is Art Ross, the man who gave everything he had to hockey.
