Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The 2018 NHL Stadium Series featured the Washington Capitals taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs, at Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Maryland, on March 3, 2018. On the strength of goals from Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom including the former’s 40th of the season, the Capitals defeated the Leafs, 5-2. We have a trio of Capitals' locker room plates from the contest, with examples for Ovechkin, Eller and Dmitry Orlov, along with a pair of gloves worn by Orlov during the 2017-18 NHL regular season. Each nameplate is approx 2” x 10”, with a Caps colour scheme and the player’s name and number in white. Each plate remains in excellent condition, with holograms affixed to the reverse of each, with matching LOAs to accompany. The gloves are Warrior models in Caps colours, with “Orlov” embroidered over each wrist guard, with a hologram affixed and a matching LOA to accompany.
The gloves show nice use with a few marks present, with the pair held together with a strap, with the hologram placed over the strap (this can be easily removed).
