The first player drafted by the Kansas City Scouts, Wilf Paiement skated for seven different NHL clubs during his lengthy career. The Earlton native is also noteworthy as the last player other than Wayne Gretzky to wear #99. From his second of three consecutive appearances at the NHL’s best-on-best showcase, we have a Campbell Conference jersey that was worn by Paiement at the 1977 NHL All-Star Game. Featuring an embroidered NHL shield team crest, the durene V-neck sports additional shields over both breasts and shoulders, with each sleeve adorned with a white star adhered between the dual-colour striping bands, with another half dozen matching examples evenly spaced across the front and reverse lower band. “10” appears over the sleeves and verso in orange-over-black tackle twill, with “Paiement” in reversed individual black letters with orange trim placed directly over the upper reverse. Accompanied by his uniform pants also worn in the contest, an LOA will accompany for the jersey.
Worn for just a single contest, there are a few random marks present, with staining over the lower front, each lower sleeve and the upper reverse. The pants with intact suspenders were issued by Gerry Cosby, with orange bars with affixed white twill stars over each side. Nice use is exhibited, with marks and residue present from storage.
