Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Featuring a number of desirable signatures, we have a great autograph lot, with Hall of Fame members included. First, we have a pair of vintage 1930s photos removed from programs, with one signed by HOF member Red Dutton, the other, Lorne Carr. This is followed by a 1962-63 Spalding hockey rule book signed by HOF member Clarence Campbell, a T.S. Andrews sporting annual signed by HOF builder Wes McKnight, two matted and signed Bobby Hull photos (11” x 14”) and a 23-print near set of Prudential "Great Moment in Canadian Sports" from the 1970s, with examples signed by Maurice Richard and Gordie Howe. There is also a 1943-44 AHL Buffalo Bisons team picture (8” x 10”) with an inscription from a Bisons team official and six modern 8” x 10” prints of Bobby Orr (all unsigned).
The Dutton and Carr magazine photos both have beautiful signatures, with light wear to the photos including toning, with some tape residue to the Carr photo. The Spalding book has been signed over the title page, the T.S. Andrew sporting annual on the cover, with both signatures displaying well and moderate to heavier wear to the items. Both Bobby Hull matted photos display well with attractive signatures, with the Bisons photo showing moderate wear, with the inscription lengthy. Lastly, the Prudential prints show light handling wear, with the signatures displaying nicely, with Howe adding “All the Best”.
