Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A member of the Triple Gold Club, having won the Stanley Cup, World Championship and Olympic gold medal, Scott Niedermayer spent parts of 18 seasons in the NHL, with the Conn Smythe Trophy won in 2007 along with five appearances made at the All-Star Game. We have a photo-matched New Jersey Devils jersey worn by the Edmonton native in 1996-97. A CCM label and size “54” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the reverse hem. Styled with a layered tackle twill team crest, “27” appears over the sleeves and verso in oversized white-over-black numbers, with “Niedermayer” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. The team patch has been screened over the inside hem, with an LOA from the Devils to accompany.
Game wear includes a few large stick marks over the lower front, with board burns over each sleeve along with a pair of small holes/slits near the left elbow. There is also a pair of team repairs, both situated over the lower right sleeve. We should also note that according to the team stamp, the jersey was made for the 1995-96 playoffs, but not making the postseason, the jersey was used as a Set 1 example for 1996-97. An included numeric image has been matched to the black mark in the top area of the 2 on the left sleeve, to the long loose white thread in the top are of the 7 on the same sleeve and to the grouping of marks in the white band below, to the right of 27 on the same sleeve.
