After collecting six Stanley Cup rings during his 14-year playing career with the Montreal Canadiens, Jacques Laperriere in 1986 claimed his first of two more as an assistant coach with the storied franchise. We have a ring presented to the Hall of Fame member for the Canadiens status as 1986 Stanley Cup champions. This magnificent gold and diamond ring features 23 diamonds – one for each Stanley Cup won by the team – within a raised gold CH logo on the face of the ring. “Coupe Stanley Cup” is spelled out in raised gold letters arching around the top of the face with “Champions” along the bottom dividing the “19” on the left side from “86” on the right side to complete the circle. The ring’s left shank has “Canadiens” in raised letters above a raised image of the Stanley Cup with 23 engraved on the top of the barrel and an NHL crest logo on the bottom. A banner flying behind the Cup is engraved with the results of the Canadiens’ four playoff series wins. The right shank features “Laperriere” in raised letters above a raised gold CH logo painted in red, white and blue enamel, with the white in the H part of the logo worn away. “A. Coach” is engraved on a gold panel beneath the team logo. The size 9 ½ ring has 10K engraved on the inside along with a Balfour logo from the ring’s manufacturer. Jacques Laperriere’s signed letter of authenticity will accompany this magnificent piece of championship jewelry.
There is wear and scratches over both the inner and outer band along with on edges, with the white enameled section of the CH logo worn away, with a small section of the blue enameling also gone.
