Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019

Hand-selected to work at the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan, Ray Scapinello spent over three decades as an NHL official which included officiating 426 Stanley Cup playoff contests, with selection as the best linesman in the game twenty times. Originally gifted to Ray Bourque and hailing from his personal collection, we have a signed referee jersey that was worn during the 1997 Stanley Cup finals by the Hall of Fame member. A size “52” fly tag is affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crest over the reverse hem. Styled with an NHL shield crest over the left breast, “32” appears over the reverse in single white twill, with the important 1997 Stanley Cup crest over the right breast. Scapinello has signed near the SC patch, with a few random marks from game use over the lower front and sleeves. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
We should note that a screen capture from Game 3 of the 1997 SC Finals (June 5) shows the perfect placement of the reverse number 2 in correlation to its angled placement with the black stripe, but the image is not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match.
