Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Featuring the signatures of past Habs legends along with Mr Hockey, we have a neat collection of signed items including a framed display totaling six, accompanied by a mid-1970s Montreal Canadiens postcard set (20) with Jean Beliveau-signed cover letter. First, we have a hard cover copy with dust jacket of Face-Off at the Summit by Ken Dryden from 1973, with the superstar netminder signing the first page twice, once in 1980, with the second signature from 2006. This is followed by a 1960s Eatons Gordie Howe postcard that has been signed over the bottom with a personalization, an Air Canada boarding pass signed in ballpoint by Boom Boom Geoffrion (with personalization), a 4” x 6” “Alumni” photo signed by Dickie Moore (with personalization) and a limited-edition (017/875) Serge Savard print signed in black marker and framed to full dimensions of just under 21” x 27”. The postcard set is housed in an album with the aforementioned Beliveau-signed cover letter, with a newspaper clipping also in the album mentioning that these postcards with Beliveau letter were given directly to a Mr Allen McGinn from the Canadiens upon his 102nd birthday in 1976. The cover letter is 8 ½” x 11” and on Habs letterhead, with the handwritten text from Beliveau lengthy, with the blue ballpoint signature flawless. The postcards all appear in beautiful high grade, with no issues for the letter. The Howe postcard shows corner and surface wear, with no issues for the Moore or Geoffrion items. The Dryden book shows heavy wear to the dust jacket, with light wear to the book.
