Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Leading a star-studded NHL All-Star squad at Rendez-vous '87, Wayne Gretzky was putting up serious numbers during the era, with his 149-points in 1987-88 topped the previous season, where he netted 183. Celebrating the golden era of The Great One, we have a pair of signed 1987 replica gloves that match the examples Wayne wore with Edmonton shortly before his trade to Los Angeles, in 1988. Jofa 686L models in Oilers colours, “W. Gretzky” is embroidered over each wrist guard, with “99” beneath, placed over the middle of the thumb section. Wayne has signed the right glove over the wrist guard in silver paint pen, and the beautiful signature stands out wonderfully against the dark background (there is a slight rub to the signature over the top of “99”). A hologram from UDA numbered “BAM53697” sits beneath the signature, with a matching COA to accompany.
