Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
One of the all-time highest-rated international hockey tournaments, the 1987 Canada Cup featured a three-game final between Canada and the Soviet Union, with the former taking home the victory. We have a photo-matched Team Sweden jersey worn by Michael Thelven while representing the semifinalists. A label from Tibas is affixed to the inside seam, with the sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 50. Styled with the three crown design administered in heat-pressed blue vinyl, “27” appears over the sleeves and verso, along with “Thelven” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. Originating from the personal collection of Ray Bourque (Thelven was a Bruins teammate), his signed LOA will accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
A few marks are present over the shoulders and lower front, along with a scuff mark and a bit of blue paint transfer over the left sleeve. Four numeric images will accompany and include matches for; the mark on the left shoulder near the seam, the two black marks on the lower front hem and the marks on and to the left of the nameplate.
