Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Notable as the first American-born player to secure 50 goals in three consecutive NHL seasons, John LeClair was an integral component of Philadelphia’s Legion of Doom, with the Vermont native also winning a Stanley Cup championship during his time with Montreal. Originating from the personal collection of Ray Bourque, we have a signed Flyers alternate captain’s third jersey that was worn by LeClair during the 1998-99 NHL season. A Nike size “56” label with handwritten “10” remains affixed to the collar along with a Center Ice tag, with NHL and Nike crests on the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the familiar and classic Flyers team crest, the solid black V-neck has been accented with layered tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “LeClair” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
John has signed the reverse “0” in black marker adding “All the Best”, with the signature displaying well with no issues. Exhibiting light wear, there are a few random dark marks present, with a single board burn over the left elbow. We should also note that the alternate’s “A” has been hastily sewn on.
