Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A two-time Olympic silver medalist with the United States, Chris Drury is the only player in history to win both the Hobey Baker Memorial Award and Calder Memorial Trophy, with the Connecticut native also securing over 600 points during his NHL tenure. From the Stanley Cup championship season of 2000-01 and originating from the personal collection of Ray Bourque, we have an Avalanche jersey worn by Drury during the finals. A size 54 fly tag adhered to a label is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively, while the 2001 Stanley Cup crest resides over the right breast. Featuring the attractive Avs team crest in use since inception, the V-neck sweater has been styled with textured triple-twill numbers, along with matching Bigfoot alternate crests over each shoulder. The jersey also features customized-shortened sleeves. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
Exhibiting light wear, there are board burns over each sleeve, with small resulting holes present over the left elbow. Getty Image #582176 from June 7, 2001 (Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals), appears to show the same loose white thread on the bottom of the team crest, with the small black spot in the lower right area of the crest also appearing to match, but the photo is not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match.
