The first of two seasons that witnessed the unique format of a First All-Star Team made up of reserves from American clubs taking on a Second All-Star Team that featured reserves from Canadian teams, the 1951 NHL All-Star Game took place at Maple leaf Gardens, on Oct 9. This would be only the fifth official NHL All-Star contest, with the match ending in a 2-2 draw. We have a rarely seen program from the notable game. At approx 6 ¾” x 10”, the 84-page booklet feature’s the combatants names over the cover along with the original 25 cent purchase price, with the center line-up intact. Loaded with wonderful period advertisements including from Spalding, Coca-Cola and St Lawrence Starch (Bee Hive), the program displays beautifully, with tight staples and just light handling wear which includes some minor spotting over the bottom section of the front cover.
