Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Still recognized as the greatest clash between international hockey powerhouses Canada and the Soviet Union, we have a great collection of desirable 1972 Summit Series and 1974 Canada-Russia series material, along with a few other gems. First, we have a rarely-seen 1974 program from Moscow in Cyrillic (8 ½” x 11 ½”), followed by a program (8 ½” x 11”) and matching ticket stub (3” x 4”) from the “Game of the Century” in 1975 between the Red Army and Montreal Canadiens at the Forum, and two programs for the 1974 Canada-Russia series (9 ¾” x 9 ¾”). Rounding out the lot, we have 1972 Team Canada watch, complete with the accompanying Hockey Heritage card set and wooden display box.
The Soviet program is a simple fold-over affair, with a few fold lines and creases, with additional wear along edges and the top border. The 1975 program shows light handling wear, with just a few creases to the ticket stub. Both of the 1974 programs also show just light handling wear, with a few small surface indentations to the covers. Lastly, the watch and card set display beautifully with no issues, with some minor wear to the presentation box.
