Especially dominant with an astute scoring ability and exceptional skating prowess, Howie Morenz secured a trio of Hart trophies during his legendary Hall of Fame career, with his number the first ever retired by the Montreal Canadiens. Originating from the collection of E. Robert Hamlyn, we have a vintage Howie Morenz portrait photo by famed photographer Rice. At 7 ½” x 9 ½” and affixed to a 10 ½” x 12 ½” beige mount, Morenz is pictured on-ice, in his full Canadiens uniform, with “Rice Montreal” handwritten over the lower right, along with “Copyright”. The image exhibits wonderful clarity along with some silvering, with a large vertical crease that runs through the image/mount and continues across the bottom of the mount, with a second smaller crease near his skates.
