This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A nice mixed bag of vintage CCM and Crown Brand photos along with Triumph postcards are offered, highlighted by a desirable 1933-34 British Consols Toronto Maple Leafs team picture. We have a near-complete set of 1933-34 CCM Brown Border photos (missing the Providence Reds) with their original envelope, a near-complete set of 1934-35 CCM Green Border photos (missing Charlie Conacher and Foster Hewitt) with their original envelope, 4 1935-36 Truimph postcards (Mantha, Conacher, Worters and Jackson) and a dozen 1935-40 Crown Brand photos – all missing their backings (Bailey, Blinco, Gagnon, Kerr, Levinsky, March, Cude, Northcott, Gracie, Jenkins and a few others). Also included, we have a pair of early Wayne Gretzky promo photos, including one for GWG jeans (each exhibit wear, with toning and pen marks on the reverse of the GWG photo). Both the Green and Brown Border sets remains in pleasing condition, with just light handling wear to the majority of the photos, with some edge toning and light staining visible, with this heavier on the Halifax, Maroons and Maple Leafs from the Green Border set, and the Leafs and Maroons from the Brown Border set. Both envelopes display well but have toning/staining, with some tears and creasing. The Truimph postcards display especially well with clean fronts and sharp corners, but with heavy paper loss/glue residue over each reverse from prior scrapbook insertion. The Crown Band photos are all missing their backings as mentioned, with moderate wear and some light staining/toning to a few examples. Lastly, the British Consols Toronto Maple Leafs team picture exhibits a few creases and corner wear, with pinholes along with some minor discolouration over the reverse. This item is relisted from our Spring 2019 auction as Brian Battles from AL (USA) failed to honor his bid.
