Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Starring Canadiens, Maroons and Maple Leafs is O-Pee-Chee's 1937-38 issue, with this group considered an attractive low grade assembly, with very few unsightly flaws observed, until that is, the backs are examined. All were once glued in a scrapbook, with less-than-dime-size areas of glue, paper or paper loss limited to the four corner regions, meaning that all text is still visible/legible. Returning to the fronts, (all with blue "frames"), most have VG, VG+, VG-EX and even EX appearances, with an obvious crease affecting only a few and none of the big names. Included are rookie cards of Toe Blake (subtle small blotch of glue on the front) and Gordie Drillon, with cards of Hall of Famers Broda, Conacher, Joliat, Apps, Jackson, Horner and Siebert also present. Two cards are encapsulated by ACA and graded "1 POOR"; 168-Trottier and 169-Blinco, while the two cards required for completion are 155-Haynes and 174-Buswell. This item is relisted from our Spring 2019 auction as Brian Battles from AL (USA) failed to honor his bid.
