Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Falling behind 1-0 in the second period, the Colorado Avalanche would strike back with a pair of third-period goals to take Game 2 of the 2000-01 Western Conference Quarterfinals, on April 14, 2001. The Aves would take the series in four. The stick retains the original white tape over the shaved handle/knob and black over the blade, with “2” handwritten on the knob, with this thought to signify the 2nd playoff game of 2001 (two dots have also been added to signify the second stick used in the game). Bourque has signed over the heel in silver, and the signature displays well. A signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
A Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model, “Bourque 77” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft, with “Handcrafted Exclusively for Raymond Bourque” on the underside. The stick exhibits good use, with a break to the blade and wear to the taped section, with some light additional wear to the shaft.
