Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Drafted by the Minnesota North Stars in the third round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Wally Chapman spent four seasons attending the University of Minnesota, with 54 points scored during his collegiate career. We have a Golden Gophers road jersey worn by the Edina native in 1984-85, his junior year with the school. A Steichens label is affixed to the collar, with the vintage sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 54. Styled with the school’s trademark large “M” over the chest in layered white and gold tackle twill, “3” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with no nameplate present. There is also a small screened-on Norcon patch on the reverse hem.
Game wear consists of marks over the front, sleeves and team crest, with heavy burns and scuffing over each sleeve, with a bit of spotting within the top of the reverse number. There are also numerous small holes and team repairs throughout, with large repairs over the left sleeve.
