Scoring a league-leading 133 points which included 66 goals, Phil Esposito helped lead the Boston Bruins to their second Stanley Cup championships during his tenure, in 1972. We have a stick used by the superstar that season, and it’s been augmented with signatures from the Boston Bruins. A Northland Custom pro model, “Esposito” is stamped midway down the shaft, with a red “7” over the upper shaft (this stamping was duplicated directly beneath). Featuring the original black tape on the blade and white over the handle/knob, the front side of the shaft has been sanded down to accommodate the approx 19 black marker signatures, which includes Esposito, along with Orr, Bucyk, Cheevers, coach Johnson, Schmidt and others. Hailing from the collection of Don Marcotte, his signed LOA will accompany.
The signatures display well including the Orr, with a few examples smudged. The stick exhibits nice use, with wear to the taped section of blade, along with numerous dark marks over the lower shaft. The additional signers include Stanfield, McKenzie, Sanderson, Walton, Hodge, Cashman, Westfall, Smith, Green, Marcotte, Awrey, Johnston and trainer Frosty Forristal.
