Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A rare single-year style and apparently designed for outdoor play with a soft fleece or flannel like-lining as opposed to the standard mesh or knit fabric, we have a University of Minnesota Golden Gophers "Soccer Style Alternate" jersey worn by centerman Rico Pagel in 1998-99. A Gemini label with “XL” sizing is affixed to the collar, with a WCHA crest over the right breast. Styled with the school’s trademark large “M” over the chest in layered white, black and burgundy tackle twill, “29” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with state crests over each shoulder. There is also a state patch over the lower reverse with the hometown of the player in script (Minnetonka), with this done to celebrate the school’s all Minnesotan roster. Exhibiting just very light game use with a few random marks over each sleeve, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. An LOA will accompany.
