One of Detroit's all-time greatest players and maintaining a lengthy leadership roll with the club on par with the great Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman skated in Motor City for 22 seasons, with Stanley Cup championships won in 1997, 1998 and 2002. We have a photo-matched Red Wings jersey worn by the preeminent captain in 1998-99, a season that witnessed 74 points scored in 80 games. Center Ice and Nike size “50” tags are affixed to the collar, with additional Nike and NHL crests on the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the classic embroidered winged-wheel team crest, the solid white V-neck has been accented with attractive single twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Yzerman” arching across the upper reverse in matching material. The team patch denoting the garment as a “2nd Set” example resides on the inside hem, with a COA from the Red Wings to accompany.
A number of puck and stick marks cover the front, with additional examples over each sleeve along with board burns. There are also team repairs present, with 2 over the left sleeve and 1 on the right. Getty Image #57066517 from April of 1999 has been matched to the big black mark to the right of “Yzerman” over the upper reverse, to the blueish mark at the right of the NHL shield, to the two black marks in the "1" of "19" on the right sleeve and to 4 other black marks on that sleeve.
