Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A veteran of over 900 NHL regular-season games, Reed Larson spent the majority of his career with Detroit, captaining the squad for a pair of seasons in the early-1980s. We have a Red Wings captain’s jersey worn by the Minneapolis native in 1981-82, a season that witnessed 60 points scored in 80 games. With the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size 54, Sandow and manufacturer tagging remains affixed to the collar, with an additional rubberized Sandow SK crest on the bottom hem. Styled with an embroidered winged-wheel team crest, “28” appears over the sleeves and verso in single twill, with the James Norris 50th anniversary patch residing over the right breast.
Game-use includes a few dark marks present over the lower front along with a bit of staining, with a few burns and scuffs over each sleeve. There are also numerous team repairs, with 1 over the lower front, 1 over the lower reverse, 8 on the left sleeve and 5 on the right. The reverse numbers also have repairs, with a few areas reinforced with red threading along edges.
