Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Last playing for the Amarillo Gorillas in the CHL, Steve DeBus began his hockey career as an 18-year old with the Rochester Mustangs, later spending a trio of seasons attending the University of Minnesota. From his freshman year, we have a Golden Gophers jersey worn by the netminder in 1995-96, and sadly for Gopher fans, this sweater has been video-matched to the crushing March 24, 1996 Mike Legg goal commonly referred to as “The Michigan”. An Apex One label is affixed to the collar near an “XL” fly tag, with WCHA and Apex embroidered patches over the left and right breasts respectively. Styled with the school’s large trademark “M” in white, black and gold layered tackle twill, “34” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “DeBus” across the detached but included nameplate. Exhibiting just a few random marks including over the team crest, there is also pilling over the collar and cuffs, with a few scuff marks on the upper left sleeve. The jersey has been matched to the video linked below, matched to the dark mark over the right shoulder.
