One of the modern era’s greatest defenceman, Nicklas Lidstrom spent his entire NHL career with Detroit, with four Stanley Cup championships won during his tenure in Michigan. From the especially productive season of 1999-00 that featured 73 points scored including the league-leading 20 goals for blueliners, we have a Red Wings alternate captain’s jersey worn by the seven-time James Norris winner. A CCM label and size “52” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with additional embroidered NHL and CCM patches over the reverse hem. Featuring a gorgeous winged-wheel team crest, “5” appears over the sleeves and verso in single twill, with the NHL 2000 patch over the right breast. The team patch resides over the inside hem denoting the garment as a “1st Set” example, with a COA from the Red Wings to accompany.
Puck and stick marks cover the lower front and right sleeve, with numerous and large team repairs over each elbow section. Getty Images #72474765 (Nov 5, 1999) and #492241 (Nov 24, 1999) have both been matched to the large black mark above the "2000" patch, and to the partially washed-out black mark in the left top area of the team crest, while Getty Images #72443650 (Nov 5, 1999) and #493714 (Dec 1, 1999) have both been matched to the large black mark above the "2000" patch.
