Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A four-time Stanley Cup champion during the 1990s, Larry Murphy spent over two decades in the NHL, with appearances made at four NHL All-Star contests. From the Stanley Cup-championship season of 1997-98, we have a Detroit Red Wings jersey worn by the HOF inductee. Center Ice and Nike size “56” labels are affixed to the collar, with embroidered Nike and NHL crests on the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the famous winged-wheel team crest, the white V-neck has been accented with single twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the “Believe VK & SM” patch to honor Vladimir Konstantinov and Sergei Mnatsakanov over the right breast. The team patch resides over the inside hem denoting the garment as a “1st Set” example, with a COA from the Red Wings to accompany.
Exhibiting nice use, puck and stick marks cover the lower front and sleeves, with a few board burns near the left elbow. There is also a large stick marks over the reverse, with heavy pilling in spots along with 7 team repairs over the left sleeve.
