Well remembered for Ray Bourque earning his long deserved Stanley Cup, the 2001 finals would go the full seven games, with Colorado earning their second championship and Patrick Roy being awarded his third Conn Smythe Trophy. We have a 2000-01 Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup championship 10K gold and diamond ring that was presented to sports marketing specialist and Aves fan development promoter Greg von Schottenstein. Size 10 with an approx weight of 60 grams, a raised silver Aves logo with diamond cluster sits centered over a bed of diamonds, encompassed by “Stanley Cup Champions 2001”. The left shank features the results from each playoff series, with an NHL logo below and “Colorado Avalanche” above, while the right has a raised Stanley Cup with “von Schottenstein” above and “KSE” – his company, below. Produced by Diamond Cutters, the white gold type “B” ring is stamped “10K” over the inner band, with a presentation box to accompany.
The ring displays wonderfully and shows wear from use, with some minor scratches over the outer band and shanks, with additional scratches to the interior band. There are also a few small nicks visible along edges. The original presentation box is 4” x 4” x 2 ½” and constructed of rosewood, with an Aves logo over the lid and “2001 Stanley Cup Champions” within the interior, with light to moderate wear present.
