Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Coming off an impressive 40-goal season with Detroit in 2005-06, Brendan Shanahan wore this photo-matched Team Canada captain’s jersey at the IIHF World Championships, in 2006. An IIHF label with Nike “62” sizing sits affixed to the collar, with an IIHF crest over the reverse hem. Styled with the familiar Hockey Canada team logo with embroidered detailing, the polyester jersey sports tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching vintage-style Canada crests over each shoulder along with “Zepter” advertising patches over each sleeve. A Nike inventory bar code resides on the inside hem, with a Hockey Canada COA to accompany.
Exhibiting light wear, there are a few dark marks beneath the team crest, with additional examples over the left sleeve beneath the Zepter crest. Getty Image #57589137, from May 11, 2006, has been matched to the long black mark on the lower reverse.
