Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Edmonton Oilers, Lee Fogolin hails from a hockey family, with his father spending time with both the Chicago Black Hawks and Detroit Red Wings in the late-1940s/early-1950s. From his time with the US national team as a 21-year old, we have a Team USA jersey worn by the Chicago native at the 1976 Canada Cup. An Athletic Knit label with “48” sizing is affixed to the collar, with the patriotic red, white and blue garment sporting all identifiers including the bald eagle team crest, reverse number and shoulder stars rubberized, along with “Fogolin” over the upper reverse. Fogolin played in two matches during the 1976 Canada Cup series, including one against Team Canada while wearing this blue uniform, where he registered a penalty. The sweater remains in absolutely gorgeous condition, with no unsightly wear or marks to note. An LOA will accompany, along with a DVD showing Fogolin in game-action against Team Canada.
