The second installment of the tournament, the 2004 World Cup of Hockey featured the Canadians defeating a strong Finnish team in the final, with Vincent Lecavalier named tournament MVP. Fresh off William Jennings and Vezina Memorial trophy wins in 2003-04, Martin Brodeur would backstop the gold medal-winning Canadians wearing this photo-matched Team Canada jersey, on Sept 1, 2004, vs Team Slovakia. Size “58G” tagging from Nike is present along the collar along with an IIHF label, with an additional IIHF crest along the back bottom hem. Styled with the iconic Team Canada primary team crest in use since 1995, the garment has been embellished with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the reverse letters over the nameplate heat-pressed on. The important 2004 World Cup of Hockey crest sits over the left breast, with alternate patches over each shoulder. A Nike inventory bar code resides on the inside hem, with an NHLPA/NHL COA to accompany.
Game-wear includes just a few random dark marks throughout, including over the lower left sleeve. Getty Image #53393338, from Sept 1, 2004, has been matched to the small black mark on the lower portion of the "3" on the left sleeve, and to the faint black mark below it.
