Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The premier selection by the New York Islanders at the 2009 Entry Draft, John Tavares spent nine seasons on Long Island while also winning gold medals representing Canada at the World Juniors, World Cup and Winter Olympics. From the 2007 Canada-Russia Super Series, we have a Team Canada jersey worn by Tavares in the match vs Russia, in Red Deer, AB, on September 7, 2007. A Nike label with “58” sizing sits affixed to the collar above an IIHF tag, with a second IIHF patch on the back bottom hem. Styled with a gorgeous maple leaf team crest with “Canada” embroidered beneath, the solid black gamer has been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. There is also a Nike bar code numbered “59040” that has been heat-pressed to the inside hem.
Originally purchased when Hockey Canada sold these jerseys in December 2007, our example shows just light use, with a few random marks present.
