Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
The World Junior record holder for tournament points with 31 in just 7 games, Peter Forsberg won four gold medals while representing Sweden, with a pair won at the World Championships along with a second pair earned at the Winter Olympics. We have a Team Sweden jersey that was worn by the superstar at the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, where he helped his nation to the bronze medal on the strength of his 5 points in 4 games. A Bauer ProWear label and size “56” fly tag are affixed to the collar, with a Bauer patch over the left breast and Swedish Ice Hockey Association patch over the right. Styled with the three crown design, “21” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching gold tackle twill, with the 1996 World Cup of Hockey crest over the left shoulder. There is a bar code from Nike on the inside hem, and we should note that Sweden wore its blue uniforms for each of its four games during the tournament.
Exhibiting nice use, there are a few marks over the lower front and sleeves, with board burns with small resulting holes/slits over each elbow along with a few additional burns over the right shoulder.
