Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
A member of Team Europe at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, Anze Kopitar has represented Slovenia internationally since 2003, with his three points scored at the 2014 Olympics Games helping his nation advance to the quarterfinals. We have a photo-matched Team Slovenia alternate captain’s jersey worn by the star at the 2008 World Championships. An IIHF label is affixed to the collar beneath Nike “62” sizing, with an IIHF centennial patch over the reverse hem. Styled with a textured Slovenia team crest with embroidered detailing, “11” appears over the sleeves and verso in white single twill, with a pair of matching sponsorship crests over each upper sleeve. There is also an inventory bar code from Nike over the inside hem.
Exhibiting light wear with a few faint burns over each sleeve, there is also a bit of blue paint transfer over the sponsorship patch on the right sleeve. Getty Image #81102007 from May 10, 2008 (qualification round vs Slovakia), has been matched to the v-shaped mark to the left of the #11 on the left shoulder.
