A thrice winner of the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the NHL's top defensive forward, Pavel Datsyuk is well known for his deft hands and exceptional playmaking abilities, with the Russian superstar winning a pair of Stanley Cup championships with Detroit. We have a photo-matched Red Wings jersey worn by the Sverdlovsk native in the 2002 Stanley Cup finals. A label and size 54 fly tag appear affixed to the collar near a stenciled “2”, with embroidered KOHO and NHL crests over the back neckline and reverse hem respectively. Styled with the attractive winged-wheel team crest borrowed from the famous Montreal AAA, the solid red V-neck has been accented with white single twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Datsyuk” arching over the reverse numbers in matching material. The 2002 Stanley Cup patch sits over the right breast, with the team patch over the inside hem denoting the garment as a “playoff set” example.
A number of puck and stick marks cover the lower front, with additional dark marks over each sleeve along with board burns and a team repair near the right elbow. Getty Image #613870 from May 25, 2002 (Game four of the Western Conference Finals) has been matched to a number of marks on the lower left side hem, while Getty Image #788741, from June 10 (Game 4 Stanley Cup Finals), has been matched to a group of six black marks on the lower front right hem in the white band. Lastly, Getty Image #763678, also from June 10, has been matched to some of the black marks on the lower left front hem.
