Only the third American-born player to score 500 goals, Jeremy Roenick spent 18 seasons in the NHL, with appearances made at an impressive 9 NHL All-Star Games. From just his third season with Chicago, one that witnessed the Boston native plot 94 points in just 79 games, we have a photo-matched Black Hawks jersey worn by the superstar in 1990-91. A Maska Ultrafil label with handwritten “52” sizing graces the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with an absolutely gorgeous chain-stitched multi-coloured Indian head team crest, “27” appears over the sleeves and verso in white-over-black tackle twill, with matching chain-stitched Tomahawk alternate crests over each shoulder along with the 1991 All-Star Game crest over the right breast.
With the fight strap showing evidence of repeated washings, the sweater exhibits heavy and prolonged game use, with puck and stick marks, board burns, scuffs and scrapes littering the garment throughout. There are also numerous team repairs covering each sleeve, with additional repairs over the reverse, beneath the front neckline and near the team crest. Getty Image #101628799 (undated) has been matched to a number of marks on the #2 on the right sleeve, and to the small mark in the white stripe on the the lower front collar, while an included high resolution numeric image has been matched to a large number of marks on the lower front of the jersey. Lastly, three additional included high resolution numeric images have been matched to the marks showing on the #2 on the right sleeve.
