A silver medalist at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, David Backes was selected 62nd overall by the St Louis Blues in 2003, with ten seasons spent in the gateway city which included an appearance at the 2011 NHL All-Star Game. We have a photo-matched Blues captain’s jersey worn by the Minneapolis native in 2011-12, a 54-point season. A label with “58+” sizing is affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests over the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the familiar Blues team crest with embroidered detailing, the blue V-neck has been accented with “42” over the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Backes” over the affixed nameplate in single white twill. Team lettering appears on the inside hem, with this sweater designated as a “Set 2” example.
Just a few random dark marks are present, along with board burns over each shoulder. Team repairs are also visible over each sleeve, with a large example near the left elbow. Getty Image #135142479 from Dec 6, 2011, has been matched to the hole on the right shoulder seam and the series of marks/holes to its left.
