Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Serving as Team USA captain at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, Joe Pavelski spent the first 13 seasons of his noteworthy career with San Jose, with All-Star Game appearances made in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019. From a season that witnessed a career-high 79 points including 41 goals, we have a photo-matched Sharks jersey worn by the Wisconsin native, in 2013-14. A label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar, with a team store price tag attached. Styled with an attractive and textured Sharks team crest, the faux tie-neck has been accented with “8” over the sleeves and verso in teal-over-black tackle twill, with matching team crests over each shoulder. There is also evidence of a former “A” situated over the left breast, with the team patch heat-pressed onto the inside hem.
Washed-out marks are visible over the lower front, with a few additional examples over each sleeve. There is also a team repair present, situated near the left elbow. Getty Image #185820354 from Oct 21, 2013, has been matched to the spot of wear below the "8" on the breast, and to the small black mark near it (this photo shows the former alternate captain's "A" that was originally affixed), while Getty Image #186118443, from Oct 24, has been matched to the spot of wear below the "8" on the breast, and to the small black mark near it (The alternate captain's "A" has now been removed). Finally, Getty Image #452602613, from Nov 15, has been matched to the spot of wear below the "8" on the breast and to the small black mark near it, to the spot of wear/hole inside the number "8" on the right sleeve and to four black marks nearby.
