Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2019
Noteworthy as one of the world’s first hockey teams, the Quebec Bulldogs – officially known as the Quebec Hockey Club, debuted in 1878 and played in a few different leagues before absorbing the void in the NHA left by the folding Cobalt Silver Kings, in 1910-11. A pair of Stanley Cup championships would be won in the early teens, with the powerful squad led by iconic Hall of Fame members Joe Malone, Joe Hall and Paddy Moran. The first of its kind we have seen or handled, we have an exceedingly rare 1915 Quebec Hockey Club pin. At just under 2” in length and featuring a crossed hockey stick design, the attractive pin has “Quebec HC” engraved on one stick, and “1915” on the other. The reverse is stamped “Sterling B.M.CO.", with just some surface wear and minor oxidation visible, with the fastener slightly bent. Possibly unique, any and all items from the historic Quebec Bulldogs are rarely seen and highly sought.
